You only have a few weeks left to order from your favourite restaurant.

Food delivery service Foodora has announced its withdrawal from the Australian market by the end of the month. The app-based business, which faces stiff competition from Uber Eats and Deliveroo, cited a lack of growth as the reason for ceasing operations.

The exit comes after the online parent company,  Delivery Hero, revealed a shift in strategy to focus on other international markets with the promise of higher growth potential.

“We wish to express our gratitude to all of our customers, contractors and employees for their dedication toFoodora Australia, and for allowing us to be a part of their everyday,” Foodora Australia manager, Jeroen Willems said in a statement.

“It has been a privilege to bring the food you love right to your door.”

Despite officially closing on August 20, the company is still in the midst of two lawsuits which will remain open.  Earlier in June the company was also forced to face allegations before the Fair Work Commission relating to underpaying staff and engaging in dodgy contracts, according to The Australian.

Foodora currently has operations in Italy, Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Canada, Finland, Norway and Sweden.
