Double the chocolate, double the joy.
You can never have too much chocolate. This is a fact backed up by science. Or at least it would be, if I were a scientist. Either way, Haigh’s Chocolates clearly agrees. The family-owned chocolate-maker has officially opened its massive new 18,000m2, $120 million production, warehouse and online fulfilment facility in Salisbury South, SA.
Prior to the new building, Haigh’s was pumping out 1,100 tonnes of chocolate a year. Thanks to these new digs, this will now be increased to 2,000 tonnes of chocolate per year – that’s two million kilos, or around 142, 857, 143 chocolate frogs. That would take the delicious. team at least a good couple of days to work through.

Powered by 1,180 solar panels, the new facility is chock-a-block with new and advanced equipment, including 1.7km of something called ‘chocolate delivery pipes’. We’re not quite sure what they are, but we want them in our house anyway.
It’s been a big couple of months for Haigh’s. In May, the chocolate brand celebrated its 110th anniversary, and earlier this month, the seventh Sydney Haigh’s Chocolate store opened Broadway, with 22 stores now nationwide.
