Note to Easter Bunny: bring a bigger basket this year.

Last year, Haigh’s made the Easter Bunny’s job that much harder with the release of its biggest Easter egg to date – a 1kg ‘Super Egg’ that’s so eye-poppingly huge, it’s hard to know where you would begin. Would you smash it gleefully and share the shards around? Or would you carefully break a small piece off each day, preserving the gargantuan shell for as long as possible?

It seems we’ll be faced with that quandary once more, as Haigh’s has announced that their colossal chocolate creation is back for Easter this year. With a bit of a price increase, we might add – 1kg of (undeniably delightful) Haigh’s chocolate will set you back $150.

The milk chocolate egg measures at a height of 32cm, and contains 5450 calories, if you wanted to eat it all at once. Which we wouldn’t recommend… but wouldn’t blame you for trying.

As for the Easter Bunny, he’ll no doubt be making a long physio appointment come April.
