Cue 'Green Sleeves' and grab your pocket money!
Worlds collide in a gorgeous fusion of childhood memories this week. Mr Whippy has teamed up with chocolate brand Darrell Lea to launch a new 100s & 1000s marshmallow chocolate block. This collab pays homage to the classic Mr Whippy ice cream van, a staple of sunny afternoons, marked by bolting out of the house with pocket change and little feet scorched on bitumen.
The chocolate block captures the vibe of the Mr Whippy GOAT: a chocolate-dipped soft serve with 100s & 1000s sprinkles and a couple of fluffy marshmallows. We can practically hear the tinkles of Green Sleeves now.
If you’re wondering where on earth Mr Whippy has been all these years, that’s a fair point. One of the big dogs of ice cream vans from the 1960s right until the late 1990s, the soft serve giants fell off the radar after its sale in 2000 to the Franchised Food Company. In 2019, Mr Whippy was bought by petrol station group, the Dib Group, and a new day dawned on the historic ice cream company.

The Darrell Lea collaboration is part of the new rebrand of the nostalgia-filled face of Mr Whippy, and if it comes by way of chocolate bar then more power to them. More vans are on the way, as well as ice cream carts, and in-store stalls at petrol stations across the country.
The Mr Whippy x Darrell Lea 100s & 1000s marshmallows chocolate bars retail from $6 and are available now at Metro Petroleum stations and Mr Whippy locations. Find your nearest at the Mr Whippy website here.
