Here's a first taste of what to expect.
Renowned chef René Redzepi, the mastermind behind the world-famous restaurant Noma, is set to debut his new Apple TV+ series, Omnivore, on July 19. The highly anticipated eight-part series delves into the beauty and complexity of the human experience, as explored through celebrated ingredients that connect people across cultures and histories.
Redzepi has gained international acclaim for his pioneering approach to cooking and fusing science with unconventional ingredients. He co-founded Noma in Copenhagen in 2003, and the restaurant quickly got the world’s attention. Noma has been awarded the title of Best Restaurant in the World by Restaurant magazine five times, and holds three Michelin stars. The restaurant is celebrated for its use of foraged and locally sourced ingredients, pushing the boundaries of food creativity and redefining dining.

Omnivore will be an extension of Redzepi’s philosophy, showcasing his passion for ingredients and the stories they tell. The series aims to highlight how food is a fundamental part of the human experience, connecting people through shared traditions and cultural exchanges, a cornerstone of his multiple pop-ups around the world – most recently in Japan. Each episode will focus on a specific ingredient – banana, chilli, coffee, corn, pork, rice, salt, and tuna – exploring its significance through history and culture.
Despite Noma’s success, Redzepi announced in March that the iconic restaurant would close its doors in 2025. The surprising decision marks the end of an era for the celebrated restaurant, which will continue to function as a test kitchen.
Omnivore will premiere on Apple TV+ on July 19.
