Inspired by Marcel Rouff’s novel “La Vie et la passion de Dodin-Bouffant, gourmet” (The Passionate Epicure), this historical story follows the extraordinary romance between a gifted cook and the esteemed gourmet she has served over two decades. Lines are blurred between the carnal urges of desire, and the love of really, really good food (been there).

At this early stage, reviews look promising with Tran Anh Hung taking out the title of Best Director at the Cannes Film Festival for the film. The New York Times reported that the movie’s focus on the sensual pleasures of food has charmed many.

While the release date for Australians is yet to be announced, we’re more than ready to be whisked away on a journey of slow-cooked desire through The Pot-au-Feu.
