Put these Star Wars-themed snacks together and you'll rule the galaxy (or movie theatre).
At delicious., like everyone else, we’re big Star Wars fans. So, naturally the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens at midnight tonight has us bristling with anticipation.
We scoured the internet, spent some time on Wookiepedia, worked our way through all the films, and even dug up a copy of The Star Wars Cookbook: Wookie Cookies and Other Galactic Recipes to figure out what would be appropriate for a Star Wars viewing with a foodie bent.
What could we make? Yoda Soda? Han-burgers? Obi-Wan Kebabs? These weren’t the snacks we were looking for.
To keep it simple we went for a couple of recipes inspired by some of the rare moments featuring food in the original films and geared it towards making our movie experience far more enjoyable. Take these into your viewing and you’ll turn your snack rank from Padawan to Jedi Master in no time.
Blue milk from Episode IV: A New Hope

If you’ve ever wondered what that weird blue milk in A New Hope was that Aunt Beru serves to Luke back home on Tatooine, it actually comes from Banthas. You know, those big furry horned elephant things that wander around the desert? Yep. It gives a whole new meaning to “You can milk anything with nipples.”
According to Wookiepedia, blue milk (also called bantha milk or Tatooine milk) “was well known for being very rich and refreshing, its opaque colouring suggesting that it was also sweet”.
In keeping with the film we’ve made a rich sweet blue milk to keep you sustained during the movie. There are two versions, one for the younglings and one for the grown-ups. Be sure to keep it cool, otherwise you’ll find it turning to the dark side before you know it.

‘Younglings’ Blue Milk:
Ingredients
- 1 cup (250ml) milk
- 2 tbs skim milk powder
- 1½ tsp vanilla bean paste
- 2 large scoops good quality vanilla ice cream
- 4 drops blue food colouring
Method
- Place all ingredients in a blender and whiz to combine. Serve in a tall milkshake cup.
‘Grown-ups’ Blue Milk:
INGREDIENTS
- 50ml white crème de cacao
- 20ml blue curacao
- 20ml vodka
- 100ml full cream milk
- 75ml pure cream
METHOD
- Combine ingredients in a mixing glass, and fill glass with ice
- Stir for 30 seconds
- Strained into a chilled cup
Ration Pack that Luke takes to Dagobah in Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

The Rebel Alliance standard issue ration pack kept Luke fed when his X-wing crash-landed on Dagobah in the Empire Strikes Back. Before Yoda got his hands on it, at least.
But who knows what other kinds of situations Luke might find himself in across the galaxy? What if he was caught out with no snacks before a movie, the pack would have to suffice. We’ve stocked ours with all the movie snacks he could want, just so he’s prepared for anything during the screening. There are plenty of dried foods so it will keep, like nuts, sausages and dried figs. Then some cheeses and crackers to make it a little bit fancy, and then your classic movie fare like chocolate, marshmallows, Flakes and Pods.

Oh, and there are some Tic Tacs in there too, just in case he runs into any princesses along the way.
