Fancy Hanks, dessert gurus Om Nom, George Calombaris’ Gazi and the two-hatted Lûmé have joined the Taste of Melbourne line-up.
Peruvian street food maestro Alejandro Saravia is also bringing Marea Cevicheria presented by Pastuso to the fold. He’s joining Melbourne favourites Estelle Bistro, Mamasita, Circa, MoVida, and Andrew McConnell’s Supernormal and Cumulus Inc. They’ll each be dishing up some of the plates that have made their venues famous, as well as exclusive Icon Dishes that can only be sampled at Taste. Translation: come here to sample Melbourne’s best tasting menu all at the one place.
Chefs will also be battling it out for the coveted Best in Taste crown on the festival’s Gala Night on Thursday 10 November.
This year, there’s one-off foodie experiences via the Electrolux Chef’s Secrets, where guests can rub shoulders and pick up cooking hacks from gastronomic A-listers including Guy Grossi, Alejandro Saravia and Joanne Ward. Or, visit the Lurpak Cookery School for a hands-on cooking demo with Masterchef Australia alumni Sara Oteri.
If you’re more to drawn to southern Asian flavours, head to the Festival Village for Indian cooking classes and chai tea masterclasses.
The drinks are being looked after by Estrella, Kingfisher Lager and more, who are manning gastro garden bars around the festival. All this while some of the country’s hottest emerging musical acts (Alice Skye, Orlando Combo) take over the Nepenthe Wines’ Music Hub.
Taste of Melbourne is happening Thursday 10 – Sunday 13 November at Pelican Lawn, Albert Park Lake. Tickets are on sale now via melbourne.tastefestivals.com.
