The revered Belgian beer brand proved itself as talented at hosting as it is at beverages at the annual Stella Artois Sensorium last night. Celebrating its second consecutive year as a sponsor of the prestigious Portsea Polo with a star-studded weekend at Victoria regional dining favourite, the Mornington Peninsula.

Festivities began with the famed Sensorium Welcome Dinner on Friday night at the much adored fine diner Pt. Leo Estate, manned by revered chef Phil Wood. Regarded as one of the country’s top foodie talents, Wood designed a custom menu for the event which showcased his food philosophy, and was inspired by the beer’s flavour and aroma.

Wood’s menu involved a series of impressive stand-out dishes including a Dutch carrot soufflé, with brown butter, brioche, wild scampi roe, corned beef short rib with cucumber and shitake pickle, mushroom soy and Stella Artois white sauce.

The indulgent ending to this three-course feast involved an alternate drop of vanilla panna cotta, peninsula strawberries, sorbet, and caramelised hazelnut and a hazelnut and chocolate mousse, paired with Stella Artois-infused caramel.

Following last night’s dinner, 400 VIPs, media and celebrities will descend on the Mornington Peninsula to enjoy the world-class Polo on display today. The Stella Artois marquee in which they will spend their time has been designed around a Belgian-style bistro, awash in the iconic red of the brand.

Joining Stella Artois on the day was a bevy of celebrities including supermodel Georgia Fowler, Australian actors Luke Bracey, Olympia Valance, Ben Mingay, Melina Vidler, and TV and radio personality Andy Lee and Rebecca Harding. There were also plenty of media present including GQ Australia’s editor Mike Christensen, Vogue Australia’s deputy editor Sophie Tedmanson, and delicious. editor-in-chief Kerrie McCallum.
