This arduous, unpredictable and often thankless toil is the reason you can confidently walk into Australia’s best restaurants knowing that the meal you’re about to eat is coming from ethical, high-quality and sustainable sources. The delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards are our way of giving thanks.
We give thanks to the fishers of South Australia, who gently return undersized and expectant female crabs back into the ocean, guaranteeing the next generation of crustaceans. Thanks to the farmers doing their bit in WA’s wheat belt to regenerate the land; land suffering from generations of unsustainable farming that has left it a salt-laden and infertile environment. Thanks to the hunters for their efforts in the ethical culling of kangaroos and wallabies, so that we may enjoy the fruits of their labour.
These awards are also our way of showcasing these dedicated individuals to our readers, and to share with you why it’s so important to #knowyourproducer.
