The National Finalists of the 2023 delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards, the country’s most prestigious food industry campaign, have been revealed.
Now in its 18th year, the 2023 Produce Awards focus on Australia’s best producers – the people who grow, cultivate, harvest and catch the produce supplied to the country’s leading chefs and hospitality venues.
delicious. Editorial Director Kerrie McCallum said, “Since 2006, the delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards has acknowledged the unsung heroes behind our top chefs and restaurateurs – Australia’s finest producers.
“We set out to discover the producers leading the field in their production ethos, cultivation and wild-catch practices, and the top-quality produce it results in. We champion producers with a focus on environmental sustainability, provenance, species diversity, preservation and collaboration with the local community.
“We believe it’s vital to educate our readers on why it’s important to #knowyourproducer.”
The esteemed panel of judges, including Josh Niland (St Peter), Lennox Hastie (Firedoor), Matt Stone and Jo Barrett (Future Food System), Matt Moran (Chiswick), Andrew McConnell (Gimlet), Peter Gilmore (Quay, Bennelong) and Alla Wolf-Tasker (Lake House Daylesford) will decide on judging day who will take out the top spots in their categories; Dairy, Earth, Paddock and Sea, as well as the prestigious Producer of the Year award.
On his return to the judging panel, Matt Moran said, “I feel so honoured to be part of these Awards. I’m always blown away by the quality of produce that we taste. Our Australian producers work tirelessly to deliver outstanding produce. They truly are among the best in the world.”
The winners will be announced on Thursday, August 24 at Rekōdo Restaurant & Vinyl Bar, Sydney.
