The delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards are back for the 20th year. Find the answers to all your questions here.
Now in its 20th year, the annual delicious. Harvey Norman Produce Awards unearths and champions Australia’s best primary food producers.
Since 2005, the Produce Awards has been at the forefront of recognising the unsung heroes behind our top chefs and restaurateurs – Australia’s finest fishers, farmers, growers and makers – and sharing with readers and consumers why it’s so important to #knowyourproducer.
In 2025, the Produce Awards is continuing to shine a light on primary producers and the sustainable and innovative ways they grow, make, harvest and catch the produce they supply to Australia’s leading chefs and dining establishments.
The program champions Australian primary producers who are making waves, changing the conversation and disrupting the status quo with forward-thinking food production practices that have a focus on environmental sustainability, provenance, species diversity and preservation, as well as local community.
The aims is to give well-deserved recognition to these producers who are making an impact; who stand out from the crowd for the groundbreaking and taste-making ways they produce the premium food that ends up on the plates at our nation’s best restaurants.
In 2025, eight awards will be presented.

Industry-nominated produce category awards
Producers are nominated by Australia’s leading chefs and food industry professionals, with 2025 National Finalists determined by the 2025 State Judges and National Judges through a State Judging process. This will be followed by a National Judging process to determine the ultimate 2025 award winners. These four award categories celebrate Australia’s best primary producers:
- From the Dairy
- From the Earth
- From the Paddock
- From the Sea
National Finalists in these award categories will also be under consideration for the following awards:
- Producer of the Year – The most outstanding producer who has excelled overall during this year’s judging process.
- Changemaker Award – This is an award for an individual, business, group or community in the food or agriculture industry that demonstrates outstanding innovation and sustainability in the production of food.
- One to Watch Award – This award recognises an Australian primary producer and future leader in the food industry who is challenging the status quo and finding new ways to produce high-quality, wholesome, flavoursome food in an innovative and environmentally sustainable way.
The 2025 awards will also include the Outstanding Artisan award. Recognising the art of traditional food preparation techniques that require training, skill and time to finesse, this award rewards Australia’s finest artisans for their craft and skill in sourcing Australian primary ingredients and transforming them into high-quality, handcrafted, small-batch food products.
