While there has been the bevvy of deserving producers, who have been crowned winners at both the state and national level of the delicious. Produce Awards; credit should also be given to the outlets helping to connect these producers with consumers. We’re talking about the farmers’ markets. And while Australia is in no short supply of produce markets, there are those that stand heads and shoulder above the rest.

The markets that have made the final cut for the Outstanding Farmers’ Market category for 2017 have just been announced. These are the markets being recognised for their engagement in the community around them and for their display of true authenticity.

Proving that their quality has been consistent over the years, each of the finalists are past trophy winners. Albany won the inaugural award in 2008, Willunga in 2009, Harvest in 2013, SAGE in both 2014 and 2015.
