Caramel fudge

Sweet and chewy, with a hint of salt for balance, our classic fudge recipe is also a cinch to prepare.
Ingredients (8)
- 395g can sweetened condensed milk
- 150g salted butter
- 1 1/4 cups (310g) lightly packed brown sugar
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbs golden syrup
- 2 tbs glucose syrup
- 180g white chocolate, chopped
- Salt flakes, to sprinkle

1.Grease a 19cm square cake pan. Line base and sides with baking paper, extending paper 2cm above edges of pan.

2.Place condensed milk, butter, sugar, vanilla and syrups in a heavy-based medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook, stirring often, for 8-10 minutes until butter is melted.

3.Increase heat to medium. Cook, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes or until mixture thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and add chocolate. Stir until melted and combined.

4.Quickly pour mixture into prepared pan, spreading to level (fudge will start to set immediately). Sprinkle with salt flakes. Set aside for at least 3 hours or until firm. Serve cut into small squares.
Recipe Notes
Store fudge in an airtight container in the fridge or in a cool, dark place for up to 1 month.
