Espresso eggnog

This beloved cocktail gets a hearty dose of holiday cheer. Just be sure to leave one for Santa come Christmas Eve!

Ingredients (5)

  • 2/3 cup (170g) vanilla bean custard
  • 1/4 cup (60ml) each of cooled espresso, coffee-flavoured liqueur and brandy
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • Ice cubes, for shaking
  • Freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon quills, to serve

Method

  • 1.
    Place custard, espresso, liqueur, brandy and cinnamon in a blender and whiz until smooth.
  • 2.
    Pour half into a cocktail shaker and fill with ice, then shake vigorously for 30 seconds before straining into a serving glass. Discard ice from shaker, the repeat process with remaining espresso mixture.
  • 3.
    Top each glass with freshly grated nutmeg, then add a cinnamon quill. Serve immediately.
