This refreshing floral drink is the perfect summer sip.
Ingredients (6)
- 50g dried hibiscus flower (karkade, from specialty grocers or online)
- 8 cups (2L) boiling water
- 1/2 cup (110g) white sugar
- Ice cubes, to serve
- 30ml shot gin (optional)
- Lime slices, to serve (optional)
Don't forget you can add these ingredients to your Woolworths shopping list.
CloseMethod
-
1.Place the hibiscus in a saucepan with the boiling water and boil for 2-3 minutes. Remove from the heat, add the sugar, stirring to dissolve, then let the hibiscus steep for around 30 minutes.
-
2.Allow to cool and refrigerate until chilled. Serve with lots of ice on a hot day. You can add a shot of gin and a slice of fresh lime to spice things up, if you like.
