Salted caramel, honeycomb waffle french toast
Ingredients (8)
- 3 eggs
- 1 cup (250ml) milk
- 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
- 8 (720g) frozen or fresh waffles, thawed if frozen
- 50g unsalted butter, chopped
- 2/3 cup (220g) dulce de leche
- 250g sour cream
- Honeycomb, to serve

1.To make the waffle French toast, place eggs, milk, cinnamon and a pinch of salt flakes in a deep tray and whisk to combine. In batches, add waffles and stand for 5 seconds each side to soak (oversoaking will cause waffles to break up). Allow excess to drip off. Set aside on a plate.

2.Heat half the butter in a large frypan over medium-high heat. Add half the soaked waffles and cook for 2 minutes each side or until a deeper golden. Set aside, wipe out pan and repeat with remaining waffles and 25g butter.

3.Spread waffles with dulce de leche and top with sour cream. Scatter with honeycomb and a pinch of salt flakes to serve.
