Non-stop travel goals.
In a year like no other, where change and uncertainly reigned supreme, there were very few constant sources of positivity and joy. However, one place that always seems to elicit gasps of ‘awww’ and ‘wow’ is Tourism Australia’s instagram account.
The official Australia instagram account has more than 4.4 million followers and boasts somewhere in the vicinity of 100 million impressions each month.
The world’s most popular global tourism brand knows a thing or two about what makes people smile, even during a global pandemic.
During a year where staying connected with loved ones was so important, the opportunity to share a cute wildlife photo or an awe-inspiring shot of our fire fighters emblazoned on the Sydney Opera House gave many the chance to reach out in a unique way.
Topping the list of the most popular instagram posts this year were the Sydney Opera House sails, a kangaroo scratching its belly and countless other ‘aww’ moments: a quokka mum together with her joey, little penguins standing flipper in flipper and a koala tightly hugging her baby joey.
