Reward seats will be available as of today on flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth between June and December 2025.
Virgin Australia has just tripled the amount of available Reward Seats for Velocity frequent flyer members on its soon-to-be-launch VA flights to Doha.
Reward seats will be available as of today on flights from Sydney, Brisbane and Perth between June 12 and December 10, 2025 (services between Melbourne and Doha will launch from December 2025).
The announcement comes off the back of Velocity’s 20,000 bonus points offer as Virgin explores an enhanced partnership with Qatar, pending regulatory approval.
The amount of Reward Seats has been increased across Business Class and Economy Class, as Virgin Australia celebrates the launch of new services from June 2025 in partnership with Qatar Airways.
The increase of available Reward Seats addresses soaring consumer demand for redemption seats, with 97 per cent of Velocity members rating Reward Seats as the most valued way to redeem their points. Passengers will fly aboard Qatar Airways’ Boeing 777 aircraft from Australia and experience one of the most premium services in the skies. Business Class travellers will have the chance to discover the award-winning Qsuite Business Class, and all guests will have complimentary access to Starlink, the world’s first ultra-high-speed, low-latency internet.

Members can redeem their points for Reward Seats in Qatar’s Business Class Qsuite seats from 89,500 points ex Perth (119,500 points ex Sydney and Brisbane); and Economy Class seats from 42,000 points (that is plus taxes, fees and carrier charges, one way Perth to Doha – it will be 56,000 points ex Sydney and Brisbane).
Virgin’s partnership with Qatar reinstates its long-haul connectivity through to the Middle Eastern carrier’s state-of-the-art hub in Doha. Doha’s Hamad International Airport has been named the world-leading hub named Skytrax’s World’s Best Airport for the third time in 2024, Best Airport in the Middle East for 10 consecutive years and the World’s Best Airport for Shopping for the past two years.
