A little over 700kms from Perth lies Francois Peron National Park, on the Peron Peninsula of Western Australia. Situated inside the boundaries of the Shark Bay World Heritage Area, it boasts acacia-cloaked red dunes, white beaches and arid shrublands, surrounded by startlingly blue and sparkling waters.

Those who love alpine areas can enjoy climbing, skiing and wildlife watching in Australia’s own Snowy Mountains region. Here, you can walk up to the peak of Mount Kosciuszko and look out over the captivating scenery below.

On the bucket list of many nature lovers is Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park.
