Good things do come in small packages proves Melbourne’s latest luxury accommodation option, United Places Botanic Gardens, opening this June. The petite hotel is set to sit on the fringe of the Melbourne Botanic Gardens, in the centre of South Yarra, and will provide 12 suite-accommodation options designed to combine the hotel and apartment concepts in one. Each room promises to not only be spacious and luxurious, but equipped with all the amenities you could ever desire (personalised butler service included). Carr Design Group is behind the physical fit-out of the space – crafting a sleek building that’s rather gender-neutral in its interiors. United Places is spread across three floors, over which nine one-bedroom suites and three two-bedroom suites sit. All boast opulent interiors (velvet drapes and hardwood floors), as well as the practicalities of a well-equipped kitchen and recessed terrace and sunken bathtubs in the two bedroom offerings. “We wanted to create a home for guests, where they could revel in the luxury of Melbourne’s best design, food and location from the privacy of their own suite,” says owner Darren Rubenstein. Then there’s the service element – a butler welcomes guests to the property, where a service team is on hand to help organise any requirements for their stay.“The element that sets a great hotel apart from one that is ‘just fine’ is the level of guest care,” explains General Manager Marcus Pelham. “From the moment a United Places guest arrives, their every need is anticipated. Whether they require theatre tickets, a table at a special restaurant or certain provisions in their kitchen, our staff are on call to ensure it happens.” Award-winning chef Scott Pickett is leading the charge when it comes to the downstairs restaurant Matilda, where guests will have priority seating. Pickett will also curate the daily in-room breakfast accompaniments. United Places 157 Domain Road, South Yarra, Melbourne unitedplaces.com.au
