Late last year the much acclaimed W Hotel group confirmed that it would be re-entering the Australian market with its first hotel in Brisbane. with a space nestled alongside the river on 300 George Street. The riverside accommodation option sitting on 300 George Street will open shortly, marking the first luxury hotel to open in Brisbane’s CBD in the past 20 years. The 312-room space offers guests sweeping views across the Brisbane River to South Bank and out to Mount Coot-tha, but it’s what’s inside that’s truly impressive – namely the three bars and restaurants within (including a recently confirmed Three Blue Ducks residency). Of the 312 guest rooms there are 29 suites, two ‘Wow Suites’ and the ‘Extreme Wow Suite’ (the brand’s interpretation of a Presidential Suite). In ode to its new home, the interiors have self-proclaimed ‘laidback Aussie vibes’ that hark to Queensland’s heritage. There are amenities that include a pool (with outdoor deck and barbecue), a gym, a spa (including vitality pools and salt inhalation chambers), in-room Netflix, and a reception area that comes complete with a DJ booth. It’s safe to say that Brisbane won’t know what hit it.
