W Sydney has been one of the most highly anticipated hotel openings in Sydney. Slated to open in 2020, but affected by delays due to the pandemic, W Sydney has already made its impact on the city before a guest has walked through the doors. Its curved, futuristic architecture has become the major focal point of Darling Harbour, without anyone seeing what’s inside. But the wait is now over. It’s just been announced the luxury hotel will open its doors on Thursday, October 12, 2023. Here’s a sneak peek.
Every touchpoint at W Sydney has been curated with a sharp design lens, with ultra-modern interiors by Bowler James Brindley. The vivid blue interiors of Living Room are a distinctly ‘W’ and will set the hotel apart from others in the city.
Due to W Sydney’s unique position rooms and suites will boast stunning city and harbour views. The size of the rooms and suites start from ‘Wonderful’, which is a guest room with a king bed, and go up to ‘WOW’, a three bedroom suite that boasts three king beds and panoramic views of the harbour. Lush!
When it comes to dining Chriss Dodd will head up BTWN, on level three of the hotel. The signature dining spot will evolve as the day progresses serving a hyper-local menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. W Sydney will also present a new dining concept, a late-night dessert bar. 2AM: dessertbar by Janice Wong will redefine the dessert experience at the hotel by pushing the boundaries between sweet and savoury.
Along with 585 carefully curated hotel rooms and suites, some of the hotel’s most exciting features include the impressive double-level bar, 29/30. Here, guests can take in dress circle views of the harbour while snacking on basque-inspired tapas and sipping elevated cocktails and vintage Champagnes by the glass.
One of the most impressive features is the 30-metre mosaic-inlaid heated infinity pool on the WET Deck. Located on Level 29, from here guests will be able to take in unparalleled views of the harbour. But that’s not all. The hotel will also be home to AWAY Spa, FIT gym, Living Room bar and state-of-the-art event spaces. Check us in, stat.
