A little bit of Europe: a lot closer to home.
New Zealand’s Otahuna Lodge has been through a rough time over the past few years. But after surviving two earthquakes and a global pandemic, they’ve, quite rightly, decided to celebrate.
You’ll be forgiven for noticing the location’s visual similarities to a certain Rodgers and Hammerstein musical. The lodge does, indeed boast sweeping fields of pastoral blooms, awe-inspiring mountain views and a sprawling Victorian mansion that’s somewhat reminiscent of the famous Von Trapp villa in Salzburg. Except this one is conveniently located safely inside the proposed Trans-Tasman travel bubble.
The 125-year-old luxury lodge, often touted as New Zealand’s most historic, is a gorgeous Victorian Mansion nestled beneath an ancient volcano in Tai Tapu, not far from Christchurch.
To celebrate their reopening, the lodge is offering private dining packages for the first time ever, from Wednesday to Saturday to groups of between two and ten guests.
Also on offer is the Back your Backyard Package*, which includes:
* Complimentary upgrade to a master suite at the time of booking per availability
* Pre-dinner drinks with canapés
* A four-course, set menu dinner
* A bottle of premium New Zealand wine from the lodge cellar
* Continental and cooked breakfast
* Wifi
* Use of lodge equipment and facilities
Otahuna Lodge reopens today and packages are available to book by visiting www.otahuna.co.nz
* terms and conditions available on the Otahuna Lodge website
