Have your very own Highland fling.
If you fancy yourself a bit of a whisky enthusiast, it’s time you put your money where your whisky goes and take a tour of Scotland. And, with this deal from Helloworld Travel – you’ll have leftover change for a plate of haggis, too. Watch the video to find out what you can expect to see (and taste) along the way.
Day one starts in Glasgow, where you’ll pick up a car and explore Glasgow’s burgeoning foodie scene. The next morning, you’ll road trip via Inverarary (where a stunning castle awaits), on to Kennacraig to catch a ferry to the Isle of Islay – a land where strong-flavoured whiskies abound at the local distilleries in the south, and milder whiskies can be sampled in the north.
Day three takes you to Oban, a large ferry port in Scotland where your next distillery resides. Here, hopping between shops, pubs and restaurants are the order of the day.
Next, it’s your chance to spot Nessy – on the fourth day of your tour you’ll drive from Oban to Speyside via Loch Ness. Head up the coast through Fort William to Spean Bridge, and on to Inverness – the capital of the Highlands.
On day five in Speyside, you might just taste the world’s finest malt whiskies. You can also visit the local cooperage – the only working cooperage in Britain. Take a break between sips to see whisky casks made from oak on site.
The final days of your Scottish adventure will be spent eating your way around Edinburgh. Sure, you’ll see castles and gorgeous natural sites too, but it’s the food and whisky you’ve come to experience (let’s be real).
