It’s common knowledge that there are plenty of bargains to be had when it comes to travel if you plan in advance. This is especially true of flights, with SkyScanner recently revealing just what time of year is best when it comes to bagging a special.

According to recently released data, flights booked during the first two weeks of January are a third lower in price than the yearly average. When not to book? March, when flights are 56 percent more expensive than the rest of the year.

The data was gathered from across Skyscanner’s 60 million monthly users, with statistics ringing true for both domestic and international fares.
