No pressure.

Uncle Roger, the comedian and fried rice connoisseur beloved for his critiques and iconic “Haiyaa” catchphrase, is putting his money where his mouth is by opening a new restaurant in Kuala Lumpur. That’s right, after placing a target on his own back, Ng has entered the ring.

The 33-year-old London-based comedian and social media star’s restaurant welcomed its first guests this week. The restaurant can be found in the Pavilion KL, a hotspot for the hungry and shopping addicts.

Fans first caught wind of the exciting news through an Instagram post by KL Foodie, showcasing a vibrant orange hoarding outside the upcoming restaurant.

And yes, there is fried rice on the menu – Uncle Roger has been showing us how to do it for years so it’d better be good.

As his character Uncle Roger, Ng has challenged some of the biggest names in food to cook-offs and collabs, including Gordon Ramsey, Joshua Weissman, and (one-sided) Jamie Oliver.

FUIYOH! is open now. Keep your eyes on the restaurant’s Instagram page to see all the action.

Is Uncle Roger actually a chef?

Uncle Roger, or rather, Nigel Ng, knows what he’s talking about. Despite his former life as a data scientist and comedian, Ng’s cooking tutorials are accessible, easy to follow, and give consistent results with a side of laughs.
