Australia will soon play home to a luxury hotel where pets aren’t just tolerated; they’re welcomed. America’s beloved hotel chain ‘1 Hotels’ are making the trip Down Under, launching their first hotel in Melbourne. The best part? The hotel will be pet-friendly, meaning you don’t have to part ways with your four-legged friends for your next getaway. 

Pooches are set to be spoilt rotten, from luxurious dog beds and minibar treats to doggy daycare and a dedicated concierge! There also won’t be any extra charges for bringing your dog along. While the hotel group doesn’t rule out other animals, these are determined on a case-by-case basis, so maybe ask before bringing your pony or your parrot. 

But that’s not the only thing setting the accommodation apart. With a strong eco-conscience, the hotel has been built using recycled, locally sourced materials and native greenery. The design has been taken care of by One Design Office alongside Fender Katsalidis, working collaboratively on the brief to ‘bring nature inside.’ 

The hotel is also set to feature a pool inspired by natural waterways, relaxation spa, fully-equipped gym and dining venue that’ll champion Victorian produce. If the dining offering follows in the footsteps of its American counterparts, it will also have a heavy farm-to-table focus.
