Life in plastic, it’s fantastic.
Just when you thought Barbiemania was dissipating, think again. Mattel has announced it’ll be opening its first ever theme park in Arizona in 2024.
Called Mattel Adventure Park, the toymaker’s theme park will take its most popular creations, like Barbie and Hot Wheels and use them as inspiration to create attractions and thrilling rides.
The life-size Barbie Beach House is sure to be a crowd favourite. Visitors will be able to peek in Barbie’s closet thanks to a Barbie Dream Closet Experience that uses hologram technology to bring Barbie to life. Within the Beach House there’ll also be a rooftop bar and restaurant from where you can sip on pink beverages.
There’ll also be not one, but two Hot Wheels roller coasters. Hot Wheels Bone Shaker: The Ultimate Ride, will climb 26 metres in the air and adopts the toy line’s skull design. The second roller coaster, Hot Wheels Twin Racer, was designed for daredevils. It will feature a thrilling double loop and two corkscrew turns. Both are built for adrenaline loving kids and adults.
