Scott’s in Bloom is the perfect spot for a long-lunch this British summer.
While Australians are shivering their way through winter, Londoners, and tourists flocking to the UK in search of warmer days, are making the most of the glorious sun.
One notable Aussie brand is making the most of the European summer. Beloved winery, Bird in Hand, has just launched a summer terrace takeover of acclaimed Mayfair restaurant, Scott’s.

Over the British summer months, Mayfair’s most coveted terrace has been transformed into Scott’s in Bloom thanks to lush greenery and vibrant blooms, which reflect the oasis Bird in Hand’s floral and fruity notes come from.
“At our Australian cellar door in the Adelaide Hills, the natural environment is integral to the guest experience, with our beautiful gardens framed in almost every direction – blurring the lines between indoors and out,” said Bird in Hand co-founder Andrew Nugent. “Susie, my wife and co-founder of Bird in Hand, is a great lover of the landscape. With our summer takeover at Scott’s we hope to share some of that passion with London-goers.”

Of course, a Bird in Hand and Scott’s collaboration wouldn’t be complete without a perfectly curated menu to complement the limited edition wines that make up the wine list. Head chef David McCarthy’s menu features decades-old classics, British seafood specialities and seasonal favourites.
Light dishes include elegant options like fresh oysters, caviar, raw fish and a wide variety of shellfish. Highlights from the mains are not limited to the Lobster Thermidor, Bannockburn rib steak with Béarnaise sauce and chips or Somerset rump of lamb with summer beans, organic spelt, datterini tomatoes, garlic and rosemary juices.

The Scotts in Bloom wine list that pairs perfectly with the menu features exclusive wines like the Bird in Hand Nest Egg Shiraz, 2015, and Bird in Hand Nest Egg Chardonnay, 2019, which you can order by the glass, carafe or bottle.
The Scott’s Summer Terrace is open now until August 31. To book, visit scotts-mayfair.com
