Gentleman, start your (supersonic) engines
Club Concorde – a group of ex-pilots, airline execs, engineers and Concorde fans – have announced plans to get the plane up and flying again by 2019.
The famed supersonic jet, known for its ability to fly from London to New York in under three hours (usually it takes seven), made its final flight in 2003.
But thanks to a group of (really, really rich) flight enthusiasts, the Concorde could be back – just don’t expect to be a passenger anytime soon.
The plane in question will set the Club back $250 million, and once the renovations are done, it’ll be available for air shows, corporate events and private charters. In other words, not for you.
