Don't leave Tuscany without trying a red wine bath

Castello di Casole

Showering has been ruined forever.

It’s not uncommon to enjoy a glass of red while you have a bath, but a hotel spa in the heart of Tuscany has taken it to the next level offering wine-inspired treatments including, yes, a red wine bath. If that’s not enough, the hotel (Castello di Casole) is situated in a 1000-year-old castle on a 4200-acre estate.

Set in the former wine cellar, the treatments by Essere Spa include a Vinotherapy body scrub made using grapeseed oil, honey, brown sugar and wine as well as a hydro-massage red wine bath. We’ll raise a glass to that.

The 110-minute treatment also includes the signature DiVino Massage, a soothing and rejuvenating experience that makes use of grapeseed and essential oils.

“Extensive scientific research is supporting the efficacy of grape and vine extracts as some of the most powerful antioxidants in the plant world,” general manager, Federico Galligani, said to Conde Nast Traveler.

“Additionally a glass of red wine during meals has beneficial effects on immune and circulatory systems,” he said.

Prices begin at $580 ($430USD) for couples.

Thought this was good, wait until you hear about Italy’s 24/7 wine fountain.
