Emirates has taken the top gong at the Skytrax World Airline Awards for the fourth time.

Emirates has once again been named the best airline in the world.

Based on the results of the largest airline customer satisfaction survey in the industry – we’re talking 19.2 million surveys covering 280 airlines, completed by passengers from more than 140 countries – the Dubai-based company was named World’s Best Airline at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

It adds this year’s prizes – it also received awards for World’s Best Inflight Entertainment and Best Airline in the Middle East – to a shelf that’s probably beginning to buckle from the weight: Emirates has received 20 Skytrax awards since they were founded 2001, including the top prize that year, a success it backed up in 2002 and 2013. It has received the inflight entertainment award for 12 consecutive years.

“To satisfy customers from such a wide and diverse passenger base is not an easy task,” said Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted. “But Emirates continues to gain superlative feedback from customers for its product and service offering from the front to the back of the aircraft.”

Plaisted noted that customers were not only impressed with the service on Emirates flights, but also with the planes themselves, particularly its A380 fleet. On most Emirates aircraft, including all of its A380s, passengers in all classes have access to Wi-Fi connectivity.

“The fact that these awards are based on the direct feedback from passengers is gratifying and wonderful recognition for all of the hard work that’s gone into creating the Emirates experience,” said Emirates president Sir Tim Clark.

Emirates is the largest international airline in the world, servicing 154 destinations in 81 countries across six continents.
