In news that will either bring you great relief or dread, Etihad Airways has just launched new Wi-Fly Chat and Surf packages, making it possible to stay connected for work or play during their flights. 

For those of you who like the excuse being in plane gives you to digitally switch off, this may come as unwelcome news. But for those digital natives who dread being offline for long periods of time, or passengers looking to catch up on work online, this will be welcomed with open arms. 

The Chat package is complimentary for guests who sign in with an Etihad Guest membership or simply enrol online before flying. Guests who choose to ‘surf’ can also purchase Wi-Fly plans available for a flat fee with unlimited data for the duration of the flight. The free chat feature includes access to popular messaging apps like WhatsApp, Messenger, and WeChat to name a few.

For flights under 7 hours, the Chat package is $2.99 or free for Etihad Guest members, and the Surf package is $9.99. For flights over 7 hours, the Chat package is $4.99 or also free for Etihad Guest members, and the Surf package is $19.99.
