This boutique hotel welcomes a chic new era.
If you’re going to undergo a stylish multi-million dollar refurbishment, it’s best you call in the best. And that’s what Lancemore Milawa has done. Hana Hakim of The Stella Collective is the creative mind behind some of Victoria’s trendiest spaces – think Liminal and Hazel in Melbourne. Her impeccable style has brought the ‘cool factor’ to this Victoria High Country, 40-room boutique hotel.
Spaces are free flowing and pared back. Intricate detailing, like touches of mosaic tiling, and plush furnishings elevate each room. Art lovers will appreciate a series of Sidney Nolan prints on display – the only destination in Australia to do so.

The overall feel is Palm Springs meets the Mediterranean, which is accentuated by the patio hammocks, poolside cabanas and outdoor dining, shaded by white scalloped-edge umbrellas. While the sun-drenched outdoor areas are perfect for the summer months, Victoria is no stranger to chilly winters. In the cooler months, stay warm by indoor fireplaces and outdoor fire pits. The floor to ceiling windows ensure that the stunning view of Lancemore Milawa’s vineyard is always in sight.

Merlot is the hotel’s onsite dining room and is helmed by executive chef Aaron Jose, of two-hatted Momo fame. Returning to his home state, Aaron will showcase local ingredients through paddock-to-plate fine dining. As the hotel is only a short drive to neighbouring wine-making region, King Valley, you can expect only the finest local drops on the wine list.
Lancemore Milawa is a three hour drive from Melbourne, and a one hour drive from Albury Airport. It is now open to guests. Book via the website.
