NSW's Mossy Point has welcomed a gorgeous new addition to its accommodation offering, thanks to this resort's recent makeover.

If you’re looking to escape the city this summer, look no further than Mossy Point, on the NSW South CoastFor those less familiar with the area, Mossy Point is a four hour road trip from Sydney and a two hour drive from Canberra. And while it may be known for its rustic timber jetties and crystal waters, there’s a recent addition putting it on the map: The Oaks Ranch

Having undergone an extensive contemporary makeover, the hotel’s updated design has taken cues from California’s Palm Springs, and the Spanish-mission style of architecture The Golden State is famous for. There are classic arches, exposed timber beams, a thick stucco-clad exterior and potted cacti around the outdoor spaces, the culmination of which will have you questioning whether you’re in the US or Australia.

The regional resort has also opened the doors to 14 newly renovated suites that soak up the westerly view of the picturesque Deua Mountain Ranges or the hotel’s rolling green grounds, offering guests complete privacy.

Inside the rooms is a thoughtfully curated selection of finishes, including Cultiver linen in the bedding and robes, Leif bathroom amenities, Maison Balzac glassware, Riedel wine glasses, Mecca coffee and The Tea Collective tea. Some suites also have outdoor showers, perfect for washing away the salt and sand after languid afternoons at the beach.

From Tomakin Beach to Broulee Beach there are endless options nearby, boasting white sand and turquoise waters perfect for relaxing, surfing, fishing, snorkelling, and whale watching.

Those seeking adventure can explore the natural surroundings. The 300-acre property backs onto the Tomaga River where vistors can kayak. It’s also close to Moruya and Batemans Bay, if you’re in the mood to visit local markets and boutique shops. Golfers will be pleased to hear that The Oaks Ranch also boasts a 9-hole golf course for those who want to have a swing.

If your aim is to unwind, days can be spent soaking in the sun by the dreamy magnesium pool – where you can also knock back refreshing sunset cocktails.

You won’t have to travel far for good food. The signature restaurant, Arlo, showcases some of the freshest and tastiest produce the South Coast has to offer.

Signature dishes are brimming with local flavour straight from the Pacific Ocean. There’s grilled barramundi with Paris mash and broccolini, raw tuna with ponzu sauce and bonito, and Tempura prawns with nasturtium, chilli and ginger. Delish!
