Steak frites meets baguette.

There are some things you can’t leave Paris without trying, like a tarte tatin, souffle, quiche, croissant, mille-feuille, eclair and steak frites baguette…? You read that right. One of Paris’ most iconic restaurants for steak frites, Le Relais de Venise, takes two of France’s most iconic foods, steak frites and baguette, and combines them to create the steak frites baguette.

Served out of La Baguette du Relais – Le Relais de Venise’s take-away shop in the Marais area – the steak frites baguette has gone viral on social media. TikTokers and food bloggers alike have flocked to the restaurant to bite into the delicious baguette. TikTok user @jacksdiningroom’s video of him trying the steak frites baguette has been viewed more than 2 million times.

So what makes this baguette so good? Le Relais de Venise has been plating up its beloved steak frites to Parisians since 1959. Grilled entrecôte paired with golden fries and the restaurant’s tasty secret sauce is what has kept customers coming back for more than 60 years. But now, Le Relais de Venise’s modern interpretation of its famous dish is what has locals and tourists alike queuing up around the corner.

The steak frites baguette takes Le Relais de Venise’s steak frites combo and squishes it between two halves of a fresh baguette. Those with a hearty appetite can order an XL sandwich which contains twice as much meat as the standard size, so 160g, or the BIG size that includes 240g of meat. Coeliacs and gluten intolerant foodies will be thrilled to know there’s even a gluten-free option. Prices start from 15 euro and go up to 25 euro. If you like your sandwiches juicy you can order extra sauce, too. Bon appetit!
