These epic onshore food events will float your boat.

Hamilton Island Race Week may be the highlight of sailors’ year, but it’s also a haven for food lovers thanks to a week of deliciously good on-shore food events. This year, Hamilton Island Race Week will run from August 17-24 and has called on top chefs Danielle Alvarez and Trisha Greentree and winemaker Larry Cherubino to headline major food events.

To kick things off on August 19, Alvarez and Cherubino will team up to curate a beachside food and wine experience that the public can buy tickets to. Set on the shores of palm-fringed Catseye Beach, Alvarez will plate up a four-course farm-to-table dinner paired with Cherubino’s selection of fine wines from his own and Robert Oatley labels. Thanks to Hamilton Island’s year-round sunshine, dinner under the stars is a balmy affair during winter months.

Greentree of Mr Wong’s and Fratelli Paradiso fame will head the coca chu kitchen on August 22 and curate an unforgettable Asian-inspired wine-paired menu that emphasises simplicity, seasonality, and creativity.

Other highlights include the Long Lunch by the Sea, a Race Week tradition that also takes place on Catseye Beach, as well as non-ticketed events such as Eat Street, which sees food vendors and live entertainment take over Front Street each evening of Race Week.
