Brooms at the ready, my fellow wizards and witches. The ‘Harry Potter: A Yule Ball Celebration’ has officially made its way down under – and just in time for long heavy coat weather!

Run by Warner Bros. and Fever, the spellbinding party (inspired by the films) has made its way through Milan, Montreal, Houston and Mexico City. It’s next stop? Sydney’s Paddington Town Hall on the iconic Oxford Street. 

From this Friday onwards, make merry at this magical event as you step off Platform 9 ¾ and stumble into the Wizarding World. The family-friendly hurrah will feature ghoulish challenges, enchanting food and drinks, as well as a market with film-inspired merch. No word yet on whether there will be any Butter Beer, but you can find plenty of muggle beer in Paddington’s surrounds.

Guests are encouraged to dress the part for a truly immersive experience. Wear your Hogwarts house colours, or perhaps don a beautiful lavender dress ala Hermione. Better yet, frill out and rock a ruffle collar like Ron. If he can do it, so can you! Robes and wands will be available to purchase on-site, but you can BYO if you have them. 

Whether you’re Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff or Gryffindor, this is an event you won’t want to miss. Through the weekend, two hour sessions will be available in the afternoon, while evening slots will run from Wednesday to Sunday.
