Island hop through Mykonos in style this summer with Uber Boat

Mykonos

Your European summer just got so much better now that Uber has announced it will be renting boats in Mykonos for the holiday season.

At Uber’s third annual Go-GET product event on Wednesday, May 17 in New York City, the ride-hailing company announced that it’ll soon launch boat travel in Greece, giving holidaymakers the opportunity to book a boat directly via the Uber app.

Up to eight passengers can book a chartered boat for as many stops as they like, so you can spend the day island hopping or just shoot across from one white-sanded beach to another. As with the usual car rides, prices increase the more stops you add but you’re in Mykonos, you’d be crazy not to. Uber Boat has been a thing around London for some time now but the roll out in Mykonos will be the proverbial canary for other potential archipelagos and harbour cities.

Uber Boat is just one of the cool new announcements, with the Go-GET event heralding a whole lot of community and family-minded new features. Uber Teen will be introduced on the app for parents and caregivers to shuttle 13-17 year olds to activities, with drivers for Teen Uber undergoing rigorous screening and added verification functions for users. Uber Car Seat will also roll out in New York and Los Angeles to make getting around with your bub easier. Fingers crossed the initiative will hit Australia sooner rather than later.

The introduction of group grocery orders will make sharehouse shopping a breeze too, with anyone on the account or invited to the shopping cart able to add items, set deadlines for the shopping list, and even split bills. Check out the full announcement for 2023 here.
