Are Meghan Markle and Prince Harry making the right choice of Canadian cities to move to?

Before they say bye-bye to Britain, we ask: have the departing royals explored all options? Here are the other Canadian destinations worth checking out.

Unless you’ve been wearing a blindfold and earplugs (and you know we’re all for self care) for the past few weeks, you’ll know Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, alongside baby Archie Mountbatten-Windsor, are moving to Canada.

In a recent statement, Queen Elizabeth II said she will be ‘allowing’ the couple to move. Which begs the question, if it was up to your Grandmother to decide where you could live, where would you be stationed?

The Queen has said, “Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working Members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family. It has therefore been agreed that there will be a period of transition in which the Sussexes will spend time in Canada and the U.K.”

So where in Canada are the Sussexes setting up camp?

Recently, the trio paid a lengthy visit to Vancouver, where Meghan has been staying with Archie while Prince Harry returns to the UK for some ‘courageous chats’ about his family’s future. Since Meghan has already spent time living in Vancouver while working as an actress filming Suits, and has a support network of pals in town, Vancouver seems an obvious choice.

But, is Vancouver the best spot for a young couple to relocate to in Canada?

Well, it’s certainly got its fair share of delicious foodie locales, and it’s well known to be a hub for those in the creative industries (will we see Meghan return to her former career?), but let’s not overlook the Canadian destinations that we think deserve to be considered by travellers and royal ex-pats alike:
