Can you guess what made the list?

Frequent flyers will be thrilled to hear that in celebration of Neil Perry’s momentous 25-year-long partnership with Qantas, some of the most iconic dishes to be served in the First and Business Lounges will be making a brief comeback.

In November, beloved retro classics like crab and sweet pork salad with green mango and nam jim dressing, duck ragu with pappardelle, and torta di Verona will be welcomed back into the Qantas First Lounges in Australia.

Neil has also cherry-picked some of his favourite dishes, which will be available in Australian Domestic and International Business Lounges. So, what makes the cut?

The iconic meatball sandwich on ciabatta with tomato ragout, Kung Pao chicken bao and his BBQ prawns, of course.

“In 1997, gourmet pizza, fusion food and chocolate lava cakes were among the most popular dishes,” says Neil.

“Fast forward to today and Australians have embraced a wider range of cuisines from around the world, from Japanese to Indian and Middle Eastern dishes and we have loved introducing customers to these new flavours.”

In the past, Qantas was one of the first Australian carriers to serve exciting “exotic” ingredients, like bok choy, and, in partnership with Neil, continues to celebrate the diversity of food in all its lounge and inflight offerings.

This is runway-side dining at its finest.

Please note dish availability will vary by lounge.
