Australia’s ‘City of Love’ has been named.
Online language learning marketplace, Preply, has ranked the top 10 most romantic cities in Australia based on a new study it conducted. What makes a city romantic you ask? Well, it’s not just champagne, roses, and sunsets.
Preply determined which cities and towns were Australia’s most swoon-worthy based on seven categories: the number of hotels, romantic restaurants, activities for couples, and amount of romance-related searches (gifting flowers, online dating, proposals, and more). The results were aggregated and each city or town received a score out of five.

So, which city or town puts love on top? That would Orange, a country town in New South Wales. Those familiar with Orange will deem its top spot worthy. From lush vineyards to intimate boutique accommodations and cozy restaurants, the place is ripe for feeling loved up.
Coming in second, was Western Australia’s Albany, followed by New South Wales beach town, Port Macquarie. The list was complete with four entries from New South Wales, three from Western Australia, and one from Queensland, South Australia, and Tasmania. Victoria and Northern Territory seem to be unlucky in love as no cities or towns for either state made the top ten.
