Discover more than 180 ancient Egyptian treasures at this one-of-a-kind exhibition.

While Egypt has always been at the top of most travellers’ bucket list, there’s been renewed interest in the ancient city thanks to Netflix newest documentary, Unknown: The Lost Pyramid. In the documentary, two renowned Egyptian archaeologists try to uncover the secrets of a new archaeological site in Saqqara — the long-lost pyramid of a forgotten Egyptian king.

If you don’t have plans to visit Egypt soon, but Netflix has you obsessed with all things ancient Egypt, we have some good news for you. At the end of the year you’ll be able to get up close to ancient artefacts thanks to a new exhibition that will be heading Down Under.

In an Australian-first, Ramses & the Gold of the Pharaohs will bring 181 priceless artefacts and one-of-a-kind relics to the Australian Museum in Sydney. The exhibition will transport visitors back 3,300 years and offer a multisensory look at the life and accomplishments of Ramses II, commonly known as Ramses the Great, who ruled Egypt for 67 years.

Journey through the exhibition to uncover preserved artefacts (some of which have never left Egypt before), including sarcophagi, animal mummies, jewellery, royal masks, exquisite amulets and ornate treasures of the tomb that showcase the workmanship of Egyptian artisans.

Tickets for the exhibition are on sale now. You can book via ticketmaster.com.au. It will be showing from November 18, 2023 – May, 2024.
