The world's longest flight has taken off

But this is not your average long-haul experience.

Travelling between Singapore and New York, Singapore Airlines has launched the world’s longest flight – a 17-hour and-52 minute journey. But, if the thought of sitting on a plane for that long sends your limbs into a state of frenzied restlessness, know that this is no ordinary long-haul experience.

Flying three times a week on the shiny new Airbus A350-900 Ultra Long Range (for all you Aviation enthusiasts out there), this flight has been specifically designed with relaxation and comfort in mind.

Not only have ‘wellness cuisines’ been curated by chefs and nutritionists from Canyon Ranch (more on that, here), but there are also sleep strategies, special lighting settings, higher ceilings, larger windows, more space and comfortable seating arrangements.

There’s another world-first on board too with personalised in-flight entertainment offerings, with recommendations based on customer preferences and viewing histories. And, on the new A350-900, there’s high-speed WiFi available too. Perhaps whiling away those near-eighteen hours won’t be so difficult after all.
