Singapore comes to Australia this February via an event that's a surprising feast for the senses.
If getting your hungry eyes over to Singapore has been on your to-do list for a little too long, allow the flavours of the lively city, to come to you via an enticing event.
Singapore Social will roll in to Sydney and Melbourne in February, bringing together the nightlife, drinks, dishes and sounds of its namesake home.

On the menu? There’ll be cocktails by Native and Operation Dagger (two of Singapore’s, if not the world’s, best cocktail bars) – including the Pork Soda Cocktail that’s quickly becoming the talk of the town.

Native’s owner and head mixologist Vijay Mudaliar has designed the Forager’s Garden cocktail and the Sarong Punch especially for the visit, while Operation Dagger’s founder Luke Whearty (a Melbourne ex-pat) has designed his Soapberry Sling for the occasion and is the man bringing the Pork Soda cocktail to town. What goes into a Pork Soda? Distilled seven times, the cocktail contains roast pork belly, apple and creamed soda – alongside a shard of what he’s called ‘animal glass’.

It’s inventor, Whearty, says, “This particular drink was inspired by eating dim sum at Swee Choon restaurant with the Operation Dagger team after service. It was specifically inspired by the flavour combination of coca-cola and Chinese 5 spice pork ribs.”
Sashi Cheliah, the 2018 winner of MasterChef Australia is behind the flavourful small-plate dishes on offer – including chilli crab sliders – and entertainment will be provided by DJ KoFlow and Tabitha Nauser.

The Rooftop Sydney will host the occasion on February 20-21, and The Albion Rooftop in South Melbourne will host Singapore Social on February 23-24.
