Flower power.

Unless you’re jetting off to Europe (NB: you’ve already been muted), being in the depths of winter can get a little bleak. But news that the Tesselaar Tulip Festival will be returning this spring is the ray of sunshine we needed.

The photogenic flower festival will be in full bloom from September 16 – October 15 this year and our weak IG feeds cannot wait for the stunning content that is going to come from this festival. More than a million spring flowering bulbs will be on show, including 900,000 tulips. You can wander through the gardens at your own pace and marvel at the sea of tulips surrounding you.

Taking inspiration from the world’s biggest producer of the iconic flower, Netherlands, traditional Dutch foods – like Poffertjes, Croquettes and Reifkoek and more – can be purchased at the festival stalls and devoured as your stroll through the fields. There’s also a Clog Shop where you can try on a pair of traditional wooden clogs and a Clog Dancing Workshop that runs from 11.30am – 2pm. Replica Dutch windmills have also been placed throughout the tulip fields.
