We've got tunnel vision.

This year’s Vivid Sydney is putting on a stellar program (read about the best things to see here) and the blockbuster event everyone has been waiting for has arrived. The Wynyard Station tunnels are officially open to the public for the first time ever.

Dark Spectrum is an immersive experience that runs the length of 900m worth of tunnels hidden beneath the busy streets of Sydney’s CBD. In true Vivid Sydney fashion, eight rooms are illuminated with choreographed world-class technology and light set to a beautiful and dynamic musical soundtrack. Inspired by the euphoria of dance floors found in underground clubs, each room creates a different multi-sensory experience.

The rooms represent a different human experience associated with colour, which nicely ties in with this year’s theme ‘Vivid Sydney, naturally’ that focuses on works inspired by Mother Nature.

While a lot of Vivid’s headlining works are free, this one will set you back $35 per person. Sessions run from midday till 9.15pm each day and is not suitable for kids under six years of age.

This paired with the addition of Vivid Food, we’re calling it: this is the best Vivid yet.

Dark Spectrum will occur every night of the festival in the Wynyard Tunnels and is a ticket entry event. The entrance and box office for Dark Spectrum is located in Wynyard Park, which is situated between York Street and Carrington Street. Once your ticket is scanned, you will be guided by a steward to the entrance. Please note, you will exit via Cumberland Street in The Rocks.
