A zombie apocalypse was always inevitable anyway.
FEDRA getting you down? Exhausted after a long day running from clickers? Sit back and relax with a warming mug of cordyceps coffee.
No, we’re not joking. Finnish-American ‘functional foods’ company Four Sigmatic has released a limited-edition ‘Last of Us’ organic high-caffeine coffee blend that features arabica coffee, coffee bean extract, lion’s mane, vitamin B12 and cordyceps.
Credit: SuppliedWhile cordyceps might turn humans into flesh-eating zombies in the hit HBO series, in real life, this variety of fungus has long been known to offer benefits to human health, such as boosting energy and reducing fatigue. So while the coffee won’t turn you into one of the infected, as the brand says, it will ‘infect you with energy’. We might not yet be living in apocalyptic times, but we are living in rather exhausting ones, so every little bit helps. The official Last of Us Instagram page even commented on Four Sigmatic’s post about the product, calling it a “survival must have”.

Where to watch The Last of Us
The special blend has been created to mark the release of the second season of The Last of Us, which premieres in Australia on new streaming service Max on Monday, April 14, with new episodes debuting on subsequent Mondays. The previous season featured on Binge, but was removed from that service on March 30, 2025, and is now streaming on Max.
In season two, set five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind. Hopefully Ellie still has her book of puns, as it sounds like they could use a laugh.
