What cost of living crisis?
If you’re like us and just happen to have a spare 15 grand lying around, don’t waste it on iceberg lettuce or mortgage repayments. Head on down to Sydney’s Dean & Nancy on 22 or Melbourne’s Sky Bar and order yourself a drink.
These two bars have teamed up to create Australia’s most expensive cocktail – the Woodford Reserve Gold Fashioned. And it’ll set you back a mere $15,000.
Mixologists from Dean & Nancy and Sky Bar will be serving the incredibly luxurious cocktail during Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week, which runs from November 5 to 14.

So, it must be asked: what the heck is in this thing, anyway? Surprisingly, there are no diamond-encrusted cocktail umbrellas or miniature super yachts, but there is some pretty pricey booze in the mix. The Gold Fashioned features Woodford’s premium, XO Cognac-finished Baccarat Edition, along with a gold-infused Château d’Yquem reduction, handmade saffron & vanilla bitters and specially engraved ice. This comes served in a hand-cut French crystal Baccarat tumbler, and includes the optional extra of a sprinkling of your accountant’s tears.
If you do happen to have the dosh to splash out on a Gold Fashioned, you won’t leave empty-handed. After enjoying your gold-flecked creation, you’ll be sent home with a cocktail kit, which includes a pair of Baccarat hand-cut French crystal tumblers and a bottle of Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition priced at $3000.
The Woodford Reserve Gold Fashioned will be available to purchase at Dean & Nancy on 22 in Sydney and Sky Bar in Melbourne for the duration of Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week, November 5 to November 14. For more on Woodford Reserve Old Fashioned Week, visit the website here.
